Tales of Symphonia: Knights of Ratatosk

Postby Jonathan on Sun Oct 28, 2007 1:02 am

Have you heard! There will be Tales of Symhponia 2 (Knights of Ratatosk) playable on the Nintendo Wii.
You play with new characters, but the game takes place two years after the events of the first, in the newly formed world of (nameless?). You do get to meet the original characters, but I suppose they are all celebrities now and you'd have to make an appointment :P The player also has the ability to tame monsters as pets (to use in battle), and though world map strolling is eliminated (there is a new point, click, and warp system) there are a lot more things to discover and a bunch of mini quests to complete. I hope they release more information soon ^_^.

I've heard about that.
Buuut... unfortunately, I haven't even played the first one. =_=;
I bought the game, but I don't have a game cube. Haha... ^^;

It's times like these when I wish I had an imported PS2 and knew how to read Japanese.....

I might get it when my wallet recovers from:

1 - Getting my own PSP (and returning the one I'm using)
2 - Importing ToR
3 - Buying a DS + importing ToI

xD
It's a long shot, since I'd need to buy a Wii too.

Once this gets announced for the US (I think it has a pretty high chance of getting a US release considering how well ToS did for an NGC game in the US), I'm getting the Wii. I'll just play Pokemon Battle Revolution and some of my old NGC games I need to finish while I wait XD

Hasn't been announced for the US yet though...*sigh* I need to plan which consoles to save for...I'm leaning towards PS3 cause I want to play Devil May Cry 4 XD (Gonna start playing the previous ones...trying to get the games now...I'm smitten with the coolness factor in the game XD) and also a bunch of other already announced games like FFXIII and SO4... =/ Not only that, I can play my old PS2 games on the PS3...and I have way more PS2 games than on the Game Cube =/

At this point...the Wii is useless to me and there would only be one game I would get...but PS3...more games I want to play...can play my old PS2 games...plus any game series that I always play and follow would probably be released on the PS3 anyway =/

In the end, the PS3 is gonna have more games for me to play in the long run (plus I can play PS2 games on it) :S

Yeah, I really don't know what other games I should play in Wii except ToS:RnK as well. :razz:

At least it is better than X360. Totally don't understand what Namco is getting to for wanting to release ToV in X360. Should be in PS3 so I have more chance of playing it. :?

Well, taking into consideration that both the X-Box 360 and the PS3 have superior graphic cards, Namco could easily do a release for both systems. Obviously, this means the Wii won't get it, but that's not too heartbreaking because I figure it wouldn't be as good on the Wii (mostly because of graphic detail and controls). Additionally, the PS3 is the mainstream console for RPG's, so... maybe... just maybe we can all enjoy ToV without having to buy a $600 console. Unless that's their angle... crap ><

I put my hope that Namco will decide to release it in PS3 after like what they did with ToS as well. *cross finger*

Since from what I saw, a lot of people hope that the talk about ToV being released in X360 is fake, and if the sell isn't good, I don't think Namco will be able to conclude that it's because the game isn't good (since IMO, it look even better than TotA . . . graphic-wise of course) and hopefully get it to PS3 instead. ^_^"

Update: Woa, that's right! The topic's name has changed :S.

I agree. Comparing the two, it seems as though Namco didn't even create it (I didn't mean to say that as though I'm bashing TotA, because I think it's awesome). ToV is clearly a game that has taken full advantage of the new generation graphic systems. Hopefully, it won't lose out in depth, and story.

Yeah, I like a game for its gameplay and story, not graphics. It can be 2D for all I care, as long as it has a good story and gameplay XD

I don't really care much about graphic as well. I'm just comparing it because TotA is clearly the best one graphic-wise so far IMO, and now ToV comes along with a better graphic. I'm waiting more for story, characters and stuff like that. (I don't even care as much about gameplay. Storyline is all I like to know XD )

Damn, I need to hurry and find a job so I can buy a Wii.

Assuming this gets a North American release.
